Jean Thompson Exhibits in Accokeek Foundation's Education Center

The Accokeek Foundation is fortunate to display six large photographs of noted artist and local community leader Jean Thompson in its Education Center. The works are part of a larger show entitled "Back of the Beyond" which appeared at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, earlier this year. Photographs of Accokeek to be on display through June 15th.

Jean Thompson first studied photography under Ansel Adams. She received an M.F.A. degree from Wright State University, Ohio. She has worked in a number of media. Her work has been shown in many galleries across the United States and Europe including: Cologne, Germany; London, U.K.; Washington, D.C.; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA. Her work may be seen on a regular basis in her studio at the Torpedo Factory.

She is represented in numerous collections including: McDonald's Corp.; National Rural Electric Cooperative, Assoc.; C&P Telephone (now Verizon); Interstate General Corp.; Henningson, Durham, and Richardson; Resnick, Durham, and Silverman; Wintergreen; American Apparel Assoc.; Paffrather Raiffensen Bank; Triteron; Marriott Corp.; Sheraton Hotels; Victoria Park Place; Mitre Corp. She is included in: Who's Who in American Art and Who's Who Women of the World.
