Volunteer
The Accokeek Foundation offers unique opportunities for volunteers—from woodlands to wetlands and waters, volunteers experience the interconnectedness of all life and come to know the historical and cultural significance and regenerative potential of the Indigenous landscape that is Piscataway Park.

Volunteering with the Accokeek Foundation is an amazing opportunity to give back to the traditional capital of the Piscataway People, a sacred place called Mòyaon. Volunteers are asked to embody the same Piscataway values at the heart of the Accokeek Foundation's work: generosity, sharing, reciprocity, respect, and stewardship.

Whether you just want to volunteer for the day, or are looking for a regular volunteer position, we have opportunities to fit all interests and skill levels.
Volunteer Opportunities
As a partner of the National Park Service, Accokeek Foundation volunteers are simultaneously National Park Service "Volunteers in Parks" (VIPs). Volunteer paperwork is processed in collaboration with the National Park Service through volunteer.gov. Foundation volunteers are supported by National Park Service resources and are also eligible for National Park Service volunteer recognition awards, including the "America the Beautiful" Volunteer Pass at 250 hours of service.
Volunteers under the age of 18 must be supervised by a parent/guardian for the duration of their shift onsite.
