On average, we toss 40% of our food in the trashcan, where it ends up in oxygen-deprived landfills to sit for years – largely intact – producing large volumes of methane, a very potent greenhouse gas.     Have you ever seen such a beautiful braid of cheese before? So beautiful you almost don’t want to eat it. Almost. Last weekend, a dozen participants attended a cheese-making workshop–one of many workshops and classes on sustainable living and stewardship practices offered by the Foundation. Using fresh milk from Hard Bargain Farm, each participant made a variety of cheeses including a farmer’s cheese using fresh herbs and spices and fresh mozzarella. Click here for more image
